DEC. 31 DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS ON E.O. 13166
FEDERAL BENEFITS IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH

ALERT The U.S. Government has requested public comment on the "costs and benefits" of implementing Bill Clinton's Executive Order 13166, which requires all federally funded services to be provided in languages other than English. The Bush Administration is continuing to push this unwise policy, even though it was never approved by Congress, and even though the court case on which it was based was overturned by the Supreme Court earlier this year.

In view of problems with mail delivery in Washington, D.C., comments will be accepted by fax or e-mail through the close of business on Monday, Dec. 31, 2001.
Fax comments to: (202) 395-6974 or E-mail comments to: baguilar@omb.eop.gov
