DOES THE SENATE CARE ABOUT PROTECTING THE PLEDGE? Urge Your Senator to support an IMMEDIATE Vote!   Printer Friendly version   E-mail to a Friend Last week the House of Representatives passed the Pledge Protection Act (H.R. 2028), sponsored by Rep. Todd Akin, by a vote of 247-173. This bill removes jurisdiction from all federal courts, including the Supreme Court, to hear lawsuits seeking to ban the Pledge of Allegiance because it contains the words "under God." The Senate Must Act! With less than one week remaining in the legislative session, the Senate must vote to protect the pledge before it adjourns for the election. Now is the Time to Strike Back at Activist Judges! Your Senators need to hear from you! Let them know that you, like nine out of ten Americans, support saying our country is "one nation under God." With such strong support, there is NO reason for the Senate to delay action. Delaying a vote until the next session will only give time for activist judges to ban the Pledge. TAKE ACTION NOW! Urge your Senators to support an immediate vote on the Pledge Protection Act!   Call Your Senators and demand an immediate floor vote on the Pledge Protection Act.   Call Majority Leader Bill Frist and ask him to schedule an immediate vote.
