Urge Immediate Passage of the Pledge Protection Act!

This week judicial supremacists struck again! U.S. District Judge Lawrence Karlton in Sacramento, who was appointed by Jimmy Carter in 1979, ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional.

In his supremacist opinion, Karlton wrote that the pledge's reference to one nation "under God" violates school children's right to be "free from a coercive requirement to affirm God." This ruling proves this issue is not going away simply because the Supreme Court dismissed the previous case, Newdow vs. U.S. Congress, on a technicality last year.

Congress must act now to protect the Pledge of Allegiance. A meaningless resolution is NOT enough. Both the House and the Senate should immediately place the Pledge Protection Act, sponsored by Rep. Todd Akin (H.R. 2389) and Sen. Jon Kyl (S. 1046), which removes jurisdiction from federal courts and the Supreme Court on cases involving the Pledge. The House passed this bill in the 108th Congress by a vote of 247-173.

Your Senators and Representatives need to hear from you! Let them know that you, like nine out of ten Americans, support saying our country is "one nation under God." With such strong support, there is NO reason for Congress to delay action.

Take Action

Both the House and the Senate should immediately pass the Pledge Protection Act (H.R. 2389 and S. 1046). Call your Members of Congress and let them know the Pledge must be protected immediately!
