Say YES to Alito! Tell your Senators to CONFIRM Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court Last week, liberals tried their old smear tactics on Bush-appointee, Samuel Alito. The Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings where Democrats unsuccessfully tried to portray him as a racist, bigoted, unqualified judge. Judge Alito consistently held his own and remained virtually unflappable furthering our confidence in his judicial ability. During the hearings, Eagle Forum participated in supporting this nominee by welcoming him each morning before the hearing, mobilizing volunteers, rallying in support at the Supreme Court, and attending the hearings. Examples of Judge Alito's Excellent Qualifications: Spent the past 15 years serving on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals Received a unanimous "well qualified" rating from the American Bar Association. Served as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 1987-1989 Served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the appellate division from 1977-1980. Served in the Office of Legal Counsel as Deputy Assistant Attorney General where he provided constitutional advice for the Executive Branch from 1985-1987. Argued 12 Supreme Court cases and argued at least two dozen court of appeals cases and handled at least 50 others. Received his Bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his law degree from Yale University. Judge Alito has more judicial experience than any Supreme Court nominee in the past 70 years and has decided more than 1,500 complicated constitutional, civil and criminal disputes! The Senate unanimously confirmed Alito by a voice vote to the Court of Appeals in 1990. Judge Alito's record is one of judicial restraint and strict constitutionalism.
