Amnesty: Let Your Voice Be Heard!

STOP the Amnesty Petition
On May 25, 2006, the Senate passed the Hagel-Martinez amnesty bill (S. 2611) by a vote of 62-36 (Roll Call 157). 38 Democrats and 23 Republicans voted for the bill, while 4 Democrats and 32 Republicans voted against the bill. This is significant because the majority of the Majority (Republicans) voted against this bill. Essentially, this is a Democratic bill, approved by Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. John McCain, which grants amnesty to 12+ million illegal aliens, putting them on the path to U.S. citizenship.

In addition, the Senate bill would admit 66 million new foreigners over the next 20 years, put them on a path to citizenship, and load them onto our entitlement benefit programs. They would also have the privilege of bringing in their relatives, which could double or triple the 66 million.

The bill will now go to conference with the House border security first bill (H.R. 4437), which does not provide any guest-worker/amnesty programs.

Let your voice be heard while Senators and Representatives are in their home districts for the Memorial Day recess. Tell them to vote NO on any conference report that includes any guest-worker/amnesty or increases legal immigration!
