Attention South Carolina Friend,
On Tuesday, Eagle Forum held a Briefing about the Patent "Reform" bill (H.R. 1908) which is now before the Senate. Our speakers (Rep. Dana Rohrbacher, Pat Choate, and Bryan Lord) explained that this is a terrible bill that would destroy our patent system, giving the benefit to foreigners and a few powerful multinational corporations, but terribly harming small inventors and small businesses.
Our U.S. Constitution established the "right" of American inventors to their inventions, and our system is absolutely unique in the whole world. That's why 95% of the great inventions are American. Our inventions are the key to our high standard of living. Our technology and innovation have made the U.S. the world leader.
The new Patent "Reform" bill is a direct attack on the constitutional rights of small inventors and small businesses. This bill passed the House narrowly and is now before the Senate. Please help Eagle Forum to defeat it.
After our Patent Briefing yesterday, I was going down in the elevator and found myself standing right next to Senator Lindsey Graham. I immediately said, "I just came from a Briefing against the Patent bill. Please vote NO on the Patent bill." That's all I had time for before the elevator door opened.
Please contact Senator Graham and tell him you you don't want any bill that changes our wonderful Patent system, which is the marvel of the world. The arguments being made against our current system are all false. "It ain't broke, so don't try to fix it." Vote NO.

Thank you for your prompt help on a matter that concerns the future of our country.
