SAMPLE LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH
Please stand firm in your intent to honor a campaign pledge you made to the American people by nominating only conservative judges to the federal bench. Our country is in great need of appointees who will uphold the Constitution and the rule of law by exercising judicial restraint. I fully support you in your commitment to appoint jurists after the model of Justices Scalia and Thomas and encourage you to strengthen your resolve to do so despite increasing calls spearheaded by the Democrats, "Independents", pollsters and the media alike that you move to the "center", particularly in the selection of more "moderate" judges. I respectfully urge you to take your vision and the administration's policies and programs directly to the American people by addressing the nation. The electorate needs to hear the unfiltered truth about your agenda and know that as President you are following the Constitution's mandate to appoint judges with the temperament and character necessary to resist usurping the legislative function. Should the new balance of power result in the continued delay, obstruction or unfair treatment of your well-qualified nominees, please be assured that I will be vigorously speaking out to my Senators, the Judiciary Committee Chairman and its members, and the media, urging as many of my fellow Americans as possible to do the same. Finally, Mr. President, I wish to thank you for your efforts to reach out in a bipartisan fashion, and trust you will do so without compromising the first principles you've articulated since you began your run for the White House. Your impact on the federal judiciary will have a profound and lasting legacy for the future of the American republic and our posterity. My prayers are with you as you continue in your steadfast commitment to set America back on course. Sincerely, SEND YOUR LETTERS TO: Pres. George W. Bush
