WASHINGTON, DC - The House and Senate have adopted amendments to the education bill (H.R. 1, S. 1) that would deny federal funding to any state or local agency or school that discriminates against the Boy Scouts. Homosexual groups are lobbying to have the amendments stripped from the bill in conference.
The Boy Scouts have been under attack since the Supreme Court ruled last year that the group is not obligated to hire homosexual troop leaders. Some school districts have taken action against the Scouts because of its policy.
