Missouri Eagle Leader Pat Andrews

Missouri Eagle Leader Pat Andrews has helped ward off Missouri casino owners for the 13th year in a row!

Founder of CasiNo Watch, Pat, along with her husband Mark, worked tirelessly to defeat a bill that would remove Missouri’s $500 loss limit. The bill, sponsored by two Republicans, tied removing the loss limit to government scholarships for bright Missouri college students. The Missouri Teen Eagles spent several days talking to senators about the bill.

CasiNo Watch, together with MO Eagle Forum, MO Catholic Conference, and MO CWA worked together to beat a bill dressed-up to look so good Missouri, but was so bad for Missouri’s families.

North American Union State Resolution

Missouri Eagle Leader Lois Linton testified last Wednesday before a House committee on HCR 33, the companion bill to SCR 15, a resolution asking Congress to withdraw from the Security and Prosperity Partnership. Through hard work and perseverance, Lois has guided SCR 15 through a Senate committee: it passed 5-1. The House version will also likely pass through committee. However, there isn’t must time left this session for the bills to get on either the House or the Senate calendars.

She acknowledges that her success is a result of all the training she has received through attending Eagle Councils. “Keep it short and to the point. The legislators’ time is too precious to waste on long histories or complex detail. If the legislators have a question, they will ask it,” said Lois.
