Tell Your Senator: Secure the Border First!
April 29, 2013
Senators are in their home states this week, and they need to hear your opposition to the Amnesty bill. Our Capitol Hill sources tell us Senators are not hearing much opposition to the Gang of 8 bill that would grant instant Amnesty to more than 11 million illegal immigrants!
As Phyllis discussed in her recent column and as Senator Rand Paul noted in a recent editorial, in the wake of the terrible tragedy in Boston, Congress must do all it can to ensure our national security. We need real solutions, not Amnesty plus empty promises to secure the border.
Senator Jeff Sessions published this report explaining specifically how the Gang of 8 bill breaks the oft-repeated promise to secure the border first. Sessions notes that the so-called “triggers,” the safeguards to ensure that the border is secure BEFORE granting Amnesty to illegal aliens, are not triggers at all. The Amnesty is instant, and the so-called triggers are merely requirements that the Department of Homeland Security file a report detailing how they will secure the border in the future. This is hardly the type of reform all Americans, native born and immigrants, need and deserve!
We need Congress to secure the American dream for all who seek it, and protecting our national security is the most fundamental aspect of protecting the American dream for all who seek it!
We need you to call your Senators today in their district offices and tell them to demand border security before Amnesty!
Our friends at Tea Party Patriots have designed this tool kit and plan of action to equip grassroots activists to take a stand against Amnesty this week. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to get involved and to make your voices heard.
Also, don’t forget to sign the petition to let your legislators know that not all people of faith support Amnesty! Also, for regular updates on the fight against Amnesty don’t forget to visit StopAmnesty.me and EagleForum.org.

Secure the Border First!
I urge you to take a stand against Amnesty and ensure that any immigration reform must start with securing the borders. A recent Rasmussen Poll noted that even among Amnesty supporters, 64% believe that the U.S. must secure its borders first.
Amnesty is not fiscally sustainable. Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation released an exhaustive analysis indicating that the cost of Amnesty would exceed $2 trillion back in 2007 — and that was before ObamaCare! We need you to protect the American dream for all!
The American people deserve openness and transparency from their legislators. We urge you to take a stand against broad, sweeping legislation worked out in back rooms behind closed doors.
I will be watching your votes and will tell my friends and neighbors how you vote.
