The Need for Fathers

Phyllis invited Dr. Ned Holstein, founder of an organization called Fathers and Families, to join her on the December 5 program. Their discussion centered around fathers' rights. The guest pointed out that ironically, liberals want everyone in the "village" to raise children, except for the fathers.

Policemen and other experts in crime readily admit that many gang members come from fatherless families, and look to gang leaders for advice and mentorship. Government programs like midnight basketball can keep these young men busy, but what they really need is a father who tells them to shape up.

Phyllis pointed out data showing that children of African immigrants are more successful than children of African Americans. The children pointed out that this is because the immigrant children have fathers who keep them in line.

There is a bill in the Massachusetts legislature that the guest thinks "is really a simple idea". If a divorced mother wants to put her children in daycare, this legislation would allow a "fit and loving" father to change his work schedule and take care the children rather than have to pay someone else.

Dr. Holstein admits that the feminists are often behind the anti-father movement. However, since the feminists are often allied with politicians and other government officials, they have incredible power and influence.
