Helping Conservative College
Students Take a Stand
Most colleges are bastions of liberalism where leftist ideology and feminist propaganda go unchallenged. Politically conservative students are often marginalized, discriminated against, or even punished academically. In an effort to equip these students to survive the campus battlefield, Eagle Forum sponsors a Collegians' Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. each summer. On June 15th, Phyllis spoke with four Summit alumni about how their experience at the Summit helped them stand firm in their conservative convictions and go on to make a real difference on their campuses.

Summit alumna Karin Agness told how she started the Network of Enlightened Women (NeW) after being turned away by the feminist faculty who ran the University of Virginia's Women's Center. NeW continued on after Karin's graduation and now has chapters at 20 colleges and universities. Alumnus Zachary Freeman founded the very successful "College Conservative" website after experiencing extraordinary liberal bias and academic discrimination at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Two other students also shared their stories of conservative campus activism.

Phyllis invited interested students to attend the 2013 Summit on July 18-19. Pre-registered students may attend for free, and discounted lodging is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information go to EFCollegians.org. Students will interact with some of the brightest stars in the conservative movement, including among others, congressional leaders Michele Bachmann, Rand Paul, Diane Black, and Louie Gohmert. Authors and policy experts including Benjamin Wiker, Jerome Corsi, M. Stanton Evans, Stanley Kurtz, Bill Federer, and Jennifer Marshall will address voter fraud, marriage, threats from China, and much more.
