The Judiciary Committee's almost unprecedented second hearing for Judge Charles Pickering, Sr., designated for a seat on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, was an exercise in, to quote from Justice Antonin Scalia, "terminal silliness." Committee Democrats performed like so many puppets under the control of the radical left-wingers such as People for the American Way.
