Amnesty Carve Out for Facebook But
No Mercy for Jobless Americans!
April 17, 2013
In the wee hours of the morning, the Gang of 8 released its 844-page amnesty bill, S. 744, titled “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.’’ It is being called the most sweeping piece of Amnesty legislation our nation has ever seen.
The bill allows illegal immigrants to immediately work legally in the U.S., but provides NO border security triggers. The bill only offers a plan to secure the border at some future time. According to immigration expert Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies, this bill actually weakens border enforcement.
According to Roy Beck of Numbers USA, whose office has closely monitored the drafting of the bill, “The bill reads as if the authors have been out of the country during these last five years of high unemployment. Nearly every section of the bill seems to add more foreign workers to compete with unemployed and underemployed Americans.”
Additionally, the Gang of 8 continues to try to railroad the bill through the Senate without proper hearings and consideration of amendments, at the risk of not allowing the compromises necessary to secure the bill. The bill breaks all the Gang of 8’s promises to protect American jobs, secure the borders, and write the bill in an open and transparent way.
It gets worse. Details are leaking of the obscene payoffs to corporations. For example, Facebook, led by 28-year-old multi-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, managed to secure a carve out in the immigration bill that gives the company a “workaround” to evade the limit on the number of H-1B visas allowed. The bill also exempts Facebook and other high-tech companies from the requirement to make “good faith” efforts to hire Americans before getting H-1B visas to hire foreigners.
This Amnesty bill is a travesty in every regard, and it must be stopped. Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 and get your friends and family to call and keep calling. Senators need to hear an overwhelming NO from their constituents!

ask Congress NOT to vote for Amnesty.
Say NO to Amnesty!
I urge you to take a stand against amnesty and ensure that any immigration reform must start with securing the borders. A recent Rasmussen Poll noted that even among amnesty supporters, 64% believe that the U.S. must secure its borders first.
Amnesty is not fiscally sustainable. Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation released an exhaustive analysis indicating that the cost of amnesty would exceed $2 trillion back in 2007 — and that was before ObamaCare! We need you to protect the American dream for all!
The American people deserve openness and transparency from their legislators. We urge you to take a stand against broad, sweeping legislation worked out in back rooms behind closed doors.
I will be watching your votes and will tell my friends and neighbors how you vote.
